Project Safe Neighborhoods:
Funded by U.S. Department of Justice

Operation New Hope’s Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) initiative is part of a nationwide effort to reduce violent crime and promote safer communities through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and data-driven solutions.

Funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, PSN focuses on identifying and addressing the most urgent violent crime challenges in San Bernardino County. By working collaboratively with local law enforcement, community leaders, and service providers, the program delivers targeted interventions that promote healing, accountability, and long-term change.

Through Operation New Hope’s trauma-informed, evidence-based curriculum, youth participants engage in a transformative experience that includes:

  • Youth Advocacy & Leadership Development

  • Restorative Justice Practices

  • Cognitive Life Skills Training

  • Mentorship & Community Engagement

PSN empowers young people to become agents of change in their communities—building resilience, making positive choices, and contributing to a safer, more connected San Bernardino.

Case Management & Reentry Support

Participants receive individualized support to assess needs, develop goals, and connect with key resources for reentry success; from education to job training and employment.

Workforce Development & Job Readiness

Through partnerships with local workforce boards, the program links individuals to job training, career pathways, and employment opportunities tailored to their strengths and local job market demands.

Supportive Services

Participants can access a wide range of wraparound services such as mental health support, transportation assistance, housing resources, and more.

Family Reunification

We help participants rebuild and strengthen family relationships with reunification assistance and referrals to family-centered services.

Statewide Partnership, Local Impact

Bounce Back builds on the Prison to Employment Initiative, a statewide effort to integrate rehabilitative services with workforce development. It connects in-prison education and training to real job opportunities after release.

Regional Collaboration for Systemic Change

Bounce Back is part of a larger Inland Empire effort led by Riverside and San Bernardino Workforce Development Boards to coordinate reentry and employment services through cross-agency partnerships and regional planning.
