California Helping Justice Involved Reenter Employment (CA HIRE) Funded by CA Workforce Development Board Foundation
Operation New Hope’s CA HIRE Initiative is a reentry program designed to support individuals returning home from incarceration in the Inland Empire. Funded by the California Workforce Development Board (CWDB), this initiative focuses on increasing employment opportunities and reducing recidivism through comprehensive, person-centered services.
The program serves probationers and parolees, providing:

Personalized Service Plans to guide each participant’s path to success
Through Operation New Hope’s trauma-informed and evidence-based approach, CA HIRE empowers justice-involved individuals to rebuild their lives, gain meaningful employment, and contribute positively to their communities.
Case Management & Reentry Support
Offers personalized support to address barriers such as housing, transportation, mental health, and legal documentation. Each participant receives a service plan developed with a case Manager.
Transitional Supportive Services
Includes transportation assistance, interview attire, referrals to housing and mental health providers, and connections to public benefits.
Job Placement & Development
Connects participants to employers through job fairs, hiring events, and direct referrals. ONH partners with local businesses committed to fair chance hiring.
Peer Mentorship & Support Groups
Formerly incarcerated mentors guide participants through shared experiences, offering encouragement and accountability.
Career Coaching & Job Readiness
Provides individualized coaching to assess skills, identify employment goals, and build professional development plans. Participants receive training in resume writing, interview preparation, time management, and workplace communication.
Vocational Training & Certification
Grants access to industry-recognized certifications and training opportunities in sectors such as construction, logistics, hospitality, and information technology.
Eligibility Requirements
Participants must:

Former San Bernardino, Riverside, Los Angeles, Orange County, or San Diego County Probation

Former California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation

On Probation
